Before I start blogging about our Eurotrip that's fastly approaching (less than a week, yikes!), I thought I would mention first our little detour to Louisiana.
We got to the Big Easy last night around midnight, we did a road trip with my family from Houston to New Orleans with the sole purpose of bringing LuLu, our Yorkie, to my parents' house so they can take care of her while we are gone in our trip. I have to admit, I was a little hesitant because I didn't know how my senior poodle, Garu, would react to the presence of tiny LuLu. Was he going to get jealous? Was he going to be nice or mean? I was very surprise (well, not really, but still, a little surprised) of how much of a gentleman he truly is... He has been nothing but sweet, patience, playful, nice and even protective of her. I'm so proud of my pups!
Coming to New Orleans is always fun. There's always something going on: a festival, a parade, an event, a game, a concert, you name it, is happening here. I love the easiness of the people, the smell of crawfish, the mixture of French, Spanish and American traditions that reminds me so much of Cartagena, the weather, the small-city feel, and did I mention the crawfish?
As we get ready to go to a picnic in Lafrienere Park, I can only imagine what a fun time Lulu and Garu will have with my parents. We will be picking her up in around a couple of months, I know we will miss my family and the pups a lot, but hey, there's always a good reason to come back to Louisiana.
